digital lomography

Photography has always intrigued me however I find myself losing interest quickly as a result of over thinking how I am taking my photos- whether the composition and lighting is technically correct etc.  Lomography has become the focus for me where the simplicity and the uncertainty of the image adds to the excitement of developing the film.  The only rule when it comes to Lomography is that there is no rules, where you can take a photo without thinking about it.  This clearly appeals to me.

The Digital Harinezumi is what I have been waiting for.  This clever little camera is not the most sleek and feature riddled but fulfills its purpose of taking digital lomographic images perfectly.  So now you can take amazing images and upload them directly on to your computer for everyone to see.

more airmiles for bananas than me?

Most of us would like to be well traveled, but surely somethings wrong if the food we buy has travelled a longer distance than most of us would do in a lifetime?  James Reynolds is a London based designer who clearly thinks so... he demonstrates this through a smart visual representation that everyone can relate to.

conductive paint experiment

Over the holidays i have become fascinated with different ways to conduct electricity, more  importantly creative ways of making circuits.  Having explored the way in which circuits can be sewn onto fabric, I continued to research other methods when i came across conductive paint.  I had known about this concept for a while now but was amazed at the level of creativeness that could be achieved.  Calvin Harris (who I'm not a fan of) was approached by what he calls 'boffins' aka designers from London who introduced him to the concept of creating music with such conductive (or as Calvin says 'connective' he really has no clue) paint.  The videos below show the way in which the project was made and are really good.  Shame the same thing can't be said for Mr Harris' music......

try it...it gets addictive

Outlining shadows. Who would have thought? Clearly street artist ELLIS.G thought it was worthwhile doing after he got mugged, seeing the shadow of his attackers weapon.  Being an artist already he became fixated on shadows and sources of light in his work.  His work can be seen all around New York city where chalk outlines are everywhere.

im not sleeping, just resting ones eyes.

This is the perfect napping chair, I adore its simplicity.

British designer Charlotte Kingsnorth has created the ‘Felt Up’ chair:

"Cut and folded in two places, a flat piece of felt has created a new space. When sat upon it cocoons the occupier, lulling them into a state of relaxation. The felt is 16mm thick and made from 100% natural wool. It acts as a natural insulator from noise, which helps further to create a chilled space in which to sit."

projection perfection

I love these Adverts from Puma, simple but effective; the background image and clothing is projected on to the models and the room, genius!
